Who We Are

Dust to Dawn Pottery exists to populate homes with practical and beautiful ceramic pieces and stimulate prayer and action to restore broken lives.

Who We Support

Restoring Hope Ministries (RHM) provides trauma healing, training, and enterprise development in the  eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, an area burdened by extreme poverty, war and gender violence.

Cornerstone Counseling Ministries is a non-profit ministry dedicated to providing counseling and life skills in order to give help and hope to those in Easton, PA and the surrounding community.

The Mission Trauma Healing initiative of the American Bible Society trains facilitators to address trauma in the US and thirty plus countries.

Proceeds from Dust to Dawn Pottery support these ministries and initiatives.

Meet Susan

Susan Briggs started with a vision to create pottery pieces that were both practical and artistic.  As she continued to refine her craft, she became more aware of the connection between the bowls and jars and the handiwork of a creative and compassionate God.  In the same way she centers, lifts and shapes a lump of clay into a useful and attractive form, the great Potter, our God, follows the same pattern when dealing with the human heart.  This realization gave birth to Dust to Dawn Pottery, capturing the journey of human transformation.

Susan is the wife to Robert, mother of five, and Mamsie to five grandchildren two of whom are potters in training.  Susan is a licensed counselor serving part-time in counseling practice in Pennsylvania.  She earned her masters in biblical counseling at Biblical Seminary in Hatfield PA and bachelors in Therapeutic Recreation at the University of Missouri.  She is an avid reader and loves the outdoors.

Meet Laurea

My love affair with pottery started around 1974 when I received my first wheel as a Christmas gift (which I still have, a Brent model A!). Pots and pieces have been emerging from that wheel ever since, as life would allow. The art of making pottery is much like life. We need to lend ourselves to be molded and shaped so when the fires of life come we can stand strong.

I am grateful my friend and partner Susan motivated me to do more with my art then just keep it for myself. Please enjoy our work and as you use it remember those in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and elsewhere whose suffering you are helping to ease with your support of Dust to Dawn Pottery.
